Online Parental Education
What it Entails
Our Online Parental Education service is designed to help caregivers feel more confident, supported, and equipped in understanding and responding to their child’s needs at home. This service is practical, structured, and focused on building real-life strategies that strengthen relationships and improve day-to-day family functioning.
A key part of this service is helping parents better understand child and adolescent behaviour through a developmental lens. We work with families supporting children and teens with a wide range of developmental, neurodevelopmental, and behavioural differences, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Intellectual and learning disabilities
- Global developmental delays
- Speech and language delays
- Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
- Anxiety-related and emotional regulation difficulties
Sessions focus on translating this understanding into practical, usable strategies at home. Parents are supported in learning how to respond to challenging behaviours in ways that reduce escalation, strengthen connection, and support skill development over time. This includes help with routines, transitions, communication challenges, emotional outbursts, school-related difficulties, and co-regulation strategies.
Online sessions offer a flexible and accessible way for caregivers to receive support from home while working through challenges in a collaborative and supportive space. Depending on the needs of the family, sessions may involve individual caregiver work or include family members to better understand interaction patterns and support more positive communication.
